The name of the Ixsir winery derives directly from "Iksir", the original Arabic word which means "Elixir." The vineyards of the Ixsir winery are spread throughout the country, from the towns of Batroun to Jezzine, passing through the mountains of Lebanon where they rest on clayey soils rich in limestone, benefiting from numerous microclimates unique for their geographical position. Furthermore, the land owned by the winery reaches 1800 meters above sea level, a characteristic that makes Ixsir the title of owner of the vineyards highest in altitude throughout the Northern Hemisphere.
